5 Mindset Hacks to Make 2022 Your Most Successful Year

As we enter into 2022, let’s take a moment to set intentions for what’s important to us in the coming year. For me, the first word that comes to mind is HAPPINESS, and as Gary Vee says, “happiness is doing what you want to do at all times”. In a lot of ways, I believe that we’ve come to realize happiness is the new barometer for success..

This raises the question, how do we achieve ultimate success? Rather than setting New Year’s resolutions that we probably won’t stick to (only 7% of people do), let’s flip the script and work on sustainable ways to actually make your daily life more successful, and ultimately happier!

Here are 5 Mindset Hacks:

  • Breathwork: Defined as “any type of breathing exercise or technique”, breathwork is one of the simplest and most accessible ways to completely change your mental and physical state. If you find yourself saying you “can’t sit still during meditation” this one's for you. The benefits of breathwork are virtually endless, but some include: stress release, increased energy, increased immunity, and better sleep. HERE is a great playlist for breathwork practices for all levels.
  • Movement: Rather than focusing on working out for an hour a day and feeling frustrated when you can’t make it happen, challenge yourself to increase your daily movement. This can be whatever feels best for you- stretching, a long walk, a spin class, lifting at the gym… studies show that it can take just 10 minutes to get those endorphins firing, so the important thing is that you’re doing something you love and sticking to it. Consistency is key and moving your body every day is sure to boost your mental and physical energy!
  • Fueling Up: We’ve all heard the saying “you are what you eat”, so when you want to be sharp, energized, and focused, your nutrition choices should reflect that. Grabbing a bottle of Après is a great way to make sure you’re getting all of your nutrients (even when you’re on the go). Whether this quiet time is for 30 minutes or 5 minutes, your brain will thank you for the much needed TLC.
  • Good Sleep: The magical tool that can make or break your energy, creativity, and focus? SLEEP. Therefore, it’s incredibly important to make sure you’re not only getting enough sleep (~8 hours), but also quantity sleep. Some of my go-to ways to enhance my sleep quality include putting my phone on airplane mode 60 minutes before bed, keeping my room at a cool temperature of about 65 degrees, & making sure the room is as dark as possible so no light will interfere with my sleep as the night progresses. 

With a little consistency and a lot of showing up for yourself, these five small shifts will begin to level up your life in an amazing, holistic way. So, this year, rather than setting huge resolutions and goals, let’s build sustainable habits from the ground up! Time to make 2022 your year.
