Habits For The Win - Week 4: Show up for yourself

Welcome to week 4 of our January "Habits For The Win" Challenge! 

This week, it's all about making yourself a priority. This is our reminder that sometimes it’s ok to be a little selfish and put yourself first. When we talk about wholesome wellness, we mean all-encompassing care for the mind, body and soul. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so let’s make time to do more of what feels good and less of what doesn’t.  

Need some ideas? That’s where we come in. Here are some great ways to turn off your mind, unwind and give YOU some love:

Get outside/Get your Om on: Fresh air is so healing, and a little change of scenery can do so much for your mental health. Follow up your walk or run with a few minutes on your mat to just breathe and center yourself. Inhale the good, exhale the B.S. Namaslay am I right?

Cheffin’ it up: Ok, you had your *flavor of choice* Après post afternoon workout😉 and now it’s time for dinner. Pour a glass of wine, pretend you’re on Top Chef and make yourself something healthy and nutritious. Cooking your own meal makes you slow down, be present and you get the satisfaction of being able to say “I did that!”.

Books, remember those?: Bookworms are back. Reading for pleasure is totally cool again and we’re here for it. Crack open (or download) that book you’ve always wanted to read and dive in. There’s nothing better than getting lost in a good book and temporarily forgetting about reality and that mile long to-do list.

Netflix + chill: So you’re not a page turner, there’s always good ol’ television. Bridgerton? The Queen’s Gambit? Rewatching The Office from the beginning for the third time? Whatever it is, a little mindless binge-watching never hurt anybody! 

Let’s get bubbly: Not that kind of bubbly (although we’ll never say no to a glass of champagne), we’re talking about a bubble bath. Light those candles, turn on that calm Spotify playlist and soak in all the good vibes.

It doesn't have to be complicated, and there is no "right" way to self-care. Just remember to carve out a little time for yourself everyday and do what makes your soul happy. Just do you. And, in case you need to hear it today, you're doing great, you're f*cking awesome, keep that sh*t up!
