We're in the thick of the new year, priorities are taking shape, our path for the future is developing, we hope you stay focused and optimistic and that starts within. Here are five health, fitness and self-care tips from Jenna Ushkowitz to feel your best all year long.
Fitness: I like to vary up my workouts and I work out approx five to six times a week. I like to switch it up between Corepower Yoga, HIIT @ Training Mate, Tennis, Running and dance so it doesn't get mundane or boring. The stronger I get, the easier it is to get myself to a workout. I make a schedule for the week ahead and put it in my calendar. I tend to set out my outfit the night before so it's ready to go and work out in the morning before I really have time to think about it.
Self Care: My newest self-care is becoming a member of StretchLab. I also try to stretch when I'm watching TV or hanging around the house but we undervalue the benefits of some real stretching!
Food: If you hate cleaning up after meal prep every Sunday and want to enjoy your week like me, I recommend Territory Foods or a meal delivery service in your area. I love it because it cuts out the hassle on a Sunday night and keeps me accountable for having meals planned out and waiting for me in the fridge during the week.
Health: I took the @Medicalmedium's Liver Recovery advice and started drinking 12-16oz. of Celery juice in the morning on an empty stomach. I felt incredible after just a week. My digestion was better, my skin is clearer and glowing and I rarely feel the need for coffee that early now.
Mental: Most importantly, I have a standing therapy session bi-weekly that helps keep my mental health on track. There are a million ways I can continue to better myself as a girlfriend, daughter, sister, and friend and the mental and physical must be continually in balance in order to grow and evolve.
